The Yuya Dress
Hi sewcialists!
I recently had the opportunity to pattern test for a pattern company based in Germany. Talk about sewing around the world! :-)
When Damar Studio reached out to ask if I was interested in testing the Yuya dress pattern, I jumped on it for two main reasons:
The asymmetric shape of the dress is a little out of my comfort zone and style but I love to challenge myself.
Damar Studio is a pattern company with a fun creative expression. I thought pattern testing would be a fun way to try a new company.
The Yuya dress comes as a PDF pattern and is pretty easy to put together. If you’ve ever used a PDF pattern, you know the drill. There are 2 versions. I chose to do View A which is the asymmetric version. Once the PDF pattern and fabric were cut, it literally took me about an hour to sew it up, just how I like it.
I used a polyester knit and made an XL because I wanted a loose fit. You can sew it tighter if you wish. Below are my measurements to give you a better idea of fit.
My Bust 99 cm / 39 in
My Waist 87 cm /34 in
My Hip 114 cm /45 in
If you are looking for a simple pattern that has endless possibilities, is easy and fast to sew, this may be the one for you!
Happy Sewing!
Sylvia
