Welcome to my blog! I created ‘The Ravel Out’ to capture my makes while I unravel my sewing ideas, one stitch at a time.

Ravel (out)

verb

  1. unravel; untangle.

  2. undo (twisted, knitted, or woven threads).

Shades of Red (DIY Jacket + pattern review)

Finished sewing my first jacket ever. Here are some pictures showing how I wore it. The pattern review is below and can be found here as well. IMG_2817

BUTTERICK SEE & SEW B6120 – PATTERN REVIEW

View sewn: View A (Semi-fitted, lined jacket, 3/4 sleeve and optional hook & eye closing)

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes. It looks exactly like it

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very easy

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved how easy it was to put the pieces together to sew. The instructions were also easy to follow. I might try using another type of fabric the next time; wasn't in love with my fabric choice

Fabric Used: Gabardine

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and yes!

Conclusion: This is a great pattern for beginners/intermediate beginners. This was my first time sewing a jacket so I do hope to get better
