If you are looking for a super quick summer ready garment, look no further because Simplicity 8655 is the one. Now this is what I call a fast, easy project perfect for beginners all the way to the ultimate sewing pro.I needed a quick project to get me out of a sewing rut and this pattern did not fail me at all.

With no further ado, here are the details of my version.

Pattern: Simplicity 8655 by Mimi G Style X Simplicity
My bust measurements: 39”
Pattern size sewn: 14
Modifications: Added elastic to the sleeve hem and shortened ties by 2.5”
Fabric used: Poly crepe from Blackbird Fabrics

STYLING:

Surprisingly, styling was the daunting part for me. I have seen a lot of fellow sewists style this top with high waisted shorts or pants but I wanted a way to incorporate it more into my daily wear. So you can only imagine how ecstatic I was when it paired nicely with my York Pinafore I made last year (Pattern by Helen’s Closet). Nothing beast wearing two me-made pieces at the same time. I may just have to make more pinafores so I can make more tie front tops to match haha! :-)
