Sew Family Jammies
Ending the decade in style… with cozy me-made pajamas. We typically do not wear pajamas so I wanted to make sure that I made something that we would wear all the time. That is how my desire to make a onesie jumpsuit for myself and a t-shirt was born. I decided not to make anything festive as well. I also made a t-shirt for my partner. Next time, I’ll make his pants as well haha!
Patterns Used
For my onesie, I used the Lisa pattern by StyleSewMe Patterns. It was an easy pattern with no closures which appealed to me a lot.
Version Made - View E
Size - 1X graded to 2X at the hips
Fabric - Ponte de Roma (medium weight)
My Body Measurements - Bust: 40” Waist: 34” Hips: 45”
Modifications - I did not sew the hoodie and cut out the pockets to reduce the bulk at my hips. I also I added the red heart and cuffs to match my partner’s shirt.
To Note - Next time, I’ll make the L to 1X size instead. For this one, I went with the size chart measurements. I’ll also add some sort of closure like a zipper to my next one.
For hubby’s shirt, I used Simplicity 8613 by Mimi G Style
Version Made - L
Fabric - Ponte de Roma
Modifications - I took the arms and side seams in about an inch.
To Note - Next time, I’ll make size M.
The shirt was paired with RTW pants. Hoping to make full on me-made next year. To make my onesie more festive, I paired it with a Christmas headband that I made myself. All you need are some random Christmas items, a hot glue gun, a headband, and you’re ready to party! This headband was such a hit at the Christmas dinner I attended later that night. So grateful for a great year and another awesome sewing year.
Happy Sewing,
XOXO
