Twisty Fun - The Eilidh Dress

This dress has got to be the definition of “business in the front, party in the back”. At first glance, it appears as a very simple dress until BAM! you see the bold back twist. Immediately I saw the back twist that it features, I knew I had to try it. So I made an exception and joined the pattern testing team to make this beauty.

Pattern Details

The Eilidh Twist Dress is available in UK sizes 6-20 (XXS-3XL) and 20-34 and has two views. View 1 has a front twist and View 2 has the back twist. The extended sizing features a higher back with the twist than size 6-20 has.

My measurements - Bust:40”, Waist:34”, Hips:45”

Size sewn - Size XL graded to XXL at the hips

Version sewn - View 2 with the twist in the back

Fabric used - Ponte de Roma

Modifications

It’s a really simple make once you finish making the twist.

As usual, I made a couple of changes:

1. I lengthened the dress by 7”

2. I made side splits for walking ease.

3. I added darts on each side at the back to eliminate any gaping.
